Count the eggs in Paul Merrett's five recipes featured on the home page of www.timeforeggs.com and be one of five winners to receive a signed copy of his cookery book "Economy Gastronomy - Eat Better and Spend Less".

To enter, state the total number of eggs used in the recipes (Spanish Style Egg Tortilla, Perfect Poached Egg, Chowder with Poached Egg, North African Inspired Frittata and Bacon Caesar Salad with a Boiled Egg), along with your name, address and phone number in an email marked 'British Egg Week' to timeforeggs@britegg.co.uk.

The closing date is midnight on 31 October 2010. All winners will be notified by the end of the day on 5 November 2010.

Terms & conditions

  1. Promoter: British Egg Industry Council, 89 Charterhouse Street, London, EC1M 6HR.
  2. Open to residents of the UK, excluding employees and their immediate families of the British Egg Industry Council, its agents or anyone else professionally connected with the promotion.
  3. Only one entry will be accepted per person.
  4. The closing date for the receipt of entries is midnight on 31 October 2010. The winners will be drawn at random from all correct and qualifying entries, and notified by telephone within one week of the closing date.
  5. No responsibility can be accepted for entries lost, delayed or mislaid for any reason whatsoever.
  6. There are five prizes available to be won. They will be as described and no cash or other alternatives are available, except that in the event of circumstances outside of its control the promoter reserves the right to substitute similar prizes of equal, or greater value.
  7. The winners' names and details of the correct answer will be available by sending a SAE to British Egg Information Service, British Egg Week draw, 52A Cromwell Road, London, SW7 5BE.
  8. The British Egg Industry Council's decision regarding all matter to do with the promotion will be final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
  9. Any personal data relating to entrants will be used solely in accordance with current UK data protection legislation and will not be disclosed to a third party without the individual's prior consent. Data relating to entrants will be retained by the British Egg Industry Council for a reasonable period after the prize draw closes to assist the British Egg Industry Council to operate prize draws in a consistent manner and to deal with any queries on the prize draw.
